Storage Cages & Bins
HERMEQ storage cages, steel bins, post pallets and panel racks are built for industrial use on jobsites, in equipment yards and in warehouses. Most of the range is welded steel, finished galvanized, zinc plated or painted, and most units are handled by forklift or pallet jack, with crane lift cages for loads going to height.
Each format keeps one kind of material organized, stored and ready to move, from loose clamps and form stakes to scaffold tube, fence panels and gas cylinders. Stackable and collapsible designs make better use of yard and warehouse space, and a fixed steel frame around the load reduces damage during handling and shipping.
Steel bins, wire mesh cages and post pallets
What goes in a unit, and how it will be lifted and moved, decides which type to buy, so the range is set out here by its contents.
Solid steel bins for clamps, stakes and small parts
Loose metalware that could slip through mesh belongs in a welded bin with solid sheet sides and a solid base. The solid steel bins for scaffold clamps hold clamps, pins and other scaffold hardware. The same welded bin is also listed as road form stake bins and as fence clamp bins for bulk fence clamps. For tools and mixed parts on sites and in warehouses, the industrial steel storage bins are the general-purpose choice, and the Vinnie Bin is the long, large-volume bin for bulk tube and fittings in contractors' yards.
Stackable steel and mesh bins with drop fronts
Parts picked by hand through the day are easier to reach in a bin with a half or full drop front, because the contents can be taken out without lifting off the bin above. The range includes stackable steel bins with drop fronts in solid sheet and stackable mesh bins in the same sizes. On larger units, drop door storage cages and drop front pallet boxes give the same front access. The Gitterbox wire mesh containers combine mesh walls with a corrugated steel deck and a half-drop gate, and the mesh steel bins are plain mesh cubes for bulky stock that has to stay visible for stock control.
Collapsible wire mesh pallet cages
Bulky, boxed or irregular goods that would not sit safely on a flat pallet go in a mesh cage on a steel base. The collapsible wire mesh pallet cages range holds tools, parts, surplus stock and demolition debris in zinc plated or galvanized cages, and the folding Gitterbox containers add a drop gate for hand access.
Post pallets and scaffold tube racks
Scaffold tube, posts and other long stock lie across a frame with a post at each corner, which holds the load in place and carries the next frame stacked on top. Standard post pallets take scaffold tube and edge protection posts, double post pallets take scaffold planks and wider loads, and solid base post pallets hold shorter components that would drop between bars. Pipe, rebar and tube longer than a standard frame go on extended racks for pipe and long stock, and scaffold tube stackers hold tube in a U-shaped frame with no banding.
Racks for fence panels, barricades and edge protection
Panels and barriers are awkward to stack loose and bend easily, so each has a rack matched to its shape that a forklift loads straight onto a truck. Temporary fence panel racks hold standard mesh fence panels, and construction fence panel racks take solid site wall panels and steel fence panels. Pedestrian barricades with fixed legs, loose legs or plastic frames go in barricade storage racks, and edge protection barriers travel in galvanized edge protection barrier racks.
Crane lift goods cages
Loads going to an upper floor, onto a roof or over a structure travel in cages built to hang from a crane hook, with safe working loads of up to 6,600 lb across the range. The crane lift goods cages carry loose and non-palletized supplies such as cable, fittings and tools, and the heavy duty goods carrying cages with ramps add a loading ramp on the double-width versions. The IBC lifting cage houses a bulk liquid tote for lifting and transport, and the crane cage for waste carts brings commercial waste carts down from upper floors behind lockable gates.
Lockable cages for gas cylinders, rigging and hazardous materials
Pressurized, hazardous and high-value stock goes behind a locked door. Gas cylinder storage cages hold propane, butane and oxygen cylinders in welded mesh with feet drilled for bolting down, and propane and gas bottle cages take smaller groups of cylinders, with wheels or a solid roof as options. Chains, slings, shackles and hooks are kept together and locked away in rigging storage cages or rigging storage lockers. Fuel, gas and chemical containers sit over a welded sump in the hazardous materials cage with sump, and tools or test equipment that need an enclosed steel box go in the lockable forklift crate.
Drum and pallet racks
Oil drums and barrels are stored on their sides and stacked in stackable drum racks. Where a leak has to be caught, drums and totes stand on spill containment pallets. Steel racks sized for standard Euro pallets, the Euro pallet storage racks, stack with fixed or removable posts, and oversized pallet racks are the reinforced choice for loads wider than a standard pallet.

Rigid welded or collapsible storage cages
Rigid welded units are right when stock is filled, stored and emptied in one yard or warehouse, and collapsible units are right when stock leaves full and comes back empty. A welded bin, post pallet or cage keeps its shape through repeated forklift handling and stacks loaded on its own feet, which is why scaffold, fencing and form stake stock that cycles between jobs and a depot is kept in welded units.
The heavy duty collapsible pallet cage and the collapsible steel pallet cage fold down to a fraction of their working height, so a return truck carries many empty cages in the space of a few full ones. The folding wire cages collapse the same way. Post pallets with removable arms and the fence panel racks with removable arms flat-pack when empty.
Storage cages for warehouses and fencing fleets
Temporary fencing and event equipment fleets
Fencing and event fleets send large quantities out and back on short notice, so storage has to load quickly and make missing stock obvious on return. Panels travel in their racks and fence clamps in their bins, with the temporary fencing accessories counted out alongside them. Barricades go out in their racks, and barricade carts on swivel casters move them along a route where a forklift cannot go.
Warehouses, factories and maintenance stores
In stores where parts are picked by hand many times a day, access decides the layout, and the open-front picking bins let fixings and consumables be picked from a stacked column.

Mesh or solid sides, load rating, handling and finish
Solid sides or mesh sides
Choose solid sides when the smallest item in the load is smaller than the mesh opening, because clamps, pins, bolts and stakes fall through mesh in transit. Mesh suits bulky stock that should be visible for stock counts, drain after rain or stay ventilated. Between the two, mesh storage pallets have a mesh base and two mesh sides that stop round items such as tube and fittings rolling off.
Load rating and stacking
With dense metalware such as clamps or form stakes, a unit can reach its rated load before it looks full, so weigh a typical load before choosing a rating, while with bulky, light goods the size of the unit decides. In a stack the bottom unit carries everything above it, so stack like units on like, with the feet seated, on level hard ground, and never above the height the product page gives.
Forklift, pallet jack or crane handling
Fork pockets, runners and guides are for forklifts and telehandlers, and units with clearance under the base also take a pallet jack. Fork pockets alone do not make a unit a lifting cage. A unit goes on a crane hook only when it has lifting lugs or eyes and a rated safe working load for crane lifting, so loads going to height travel in crane lift goods cages and never in a forklift cage hung on chains.
Galvanized, zinc plated or painted finishes
Galvanized and zinc plated steel are the choice for units that stand outdoors, in coastal yards or in wet stores. Painted and powder coated finishes add corrosion protection and color, which lets a fleet or a store sort stock at a glance.

Frequently Asked Questions
A cage pallet is a steel base with mesh walls on all four sides, often collapsible, that holds loose, boxed or irregular goods and moves by forklift or pallet jack. A post pallet has a post at each corner and open or barred sides, and holds long stock such as scaffold tube that lies across the frame.
Rigid welded bins and post pallets in the HERMEQ range stack up to six high when loaded, on feet that locate each unit on the one below. Collapsible mesh cages and the drop front bins stack up to four high.
High-value and easily carried items go in a lockable cage, locker or crate with a padlock-ready door, with the keys held by one named person. Mesh sides let a walk-round check see the contents without opening the unit.
Store cylinders upright and secured against falling, with valve caps fitted, in a ventilated, lockable mesh cage away from exits and sources of heat. Keep oxygen apart from fuel gases such as propane, and follow OSHA and the local fire code on separation and signage.
Yes. The industrial steel storage bins can be made to sizes and steel gauges not listed, and the custom plastic pallet boxes are made to order for the handling and storage they will see.
